TerraServe is early software, under active development. It's here for you to try, evaluate and give feedback on. It is not ready to run something you care about in production, and we would rather say that plainly than have you find out the hard way.
Things change. Flags, defaults, endpoints and output can all move between versions while we settle the design, sometimes without notice. Things can also break: a release may have bugs we haven't found yet, and a demo may be down while we work on it. If something you used today shifts tomorrow, that's expected at this stage, not a promise broken.
Intended use
Please use TerraServe to kick the tyres: point it at your data, run the demos, compare it against your current tools, and tell us what works and what doesn't. Please don't put it in front of real users or a real workload yet. It hasn't had the hardening, the long soak testing, or the track record that a production map server needs.
No warranty
TerraServe is open source under the MPL-2.0 licence, which provides it "as is", with no warranty of any kind and no liability for what happens when you use it.
In plain terms: you're welcome to use it, and you use it at your own risk. We make no guarantee that it is correct, complete, secure, or fit for any particular purpose. Check its output against a tool you trust before you rely on any result.
The live demos
The live examples on this site run on small servers and exist to show the engine working. They are not a hosted service, they carry no uptime promise, and the data behind them may change or disappear as we iterate. Treat them as a look, not a dependency.
Feedback
Finding the rough edges is the whole point of a beta. If something is wrong, unclear or missing, we want to hear it. Write to jorge@terraops.org, or open an issue on GitHub.
